At 2:00pm on Wednesday April 1st 2020 the Federal Government announced the details of the Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy (CEWS) program for employers. As the program was developed in a week, where it would normally take a year or two, Minister of Finance Bill Morneau confirmed that additional details are necessary to address specific employer circumstances. He confirmed these details would be forthcoming as the program is further developed. Overnight, the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) released clarifications of the details of CEWS. The Matheis Team has summarized the details for you, CLICK here to view.
